Pleased

Just received my results from iChat! All I can say is...

I'm very happy with my result! Pretty pleased with it hehe. My result improved so yep I'm really happy. Won't tell you the details here but yeah just happy heh. And no I didn't get a 4.0 FYI.

Just happy! I can now travel to the US with peace :D

Will be flying off tomorrow. To Taiwan first from Indo, then to SF, then to Chicago. OMG how to handle the long flight and jetlag! But whatever it is I'm going to get an awesome trip hehe. Wonder what I'll be doing there and what adventure is going to wait for me! :) Another continent stepped!

Alright just doing day 20 challenge. OMG it's been 20 days since I started!

Day 20 - A song during this time of the year

A song... Hmm. So like I'll take it as March 2011? Hmm what song did I listen to?

March 2011 --> CLS FLC --> Man in the mirror! (Y)

This song reminds me of my awesome CLS FLC! Great song, great lyric, great meaning. Michael Jackson FTW :D

Okay that's all for today. Damn excited for tomorrow. Not yet finished packing! See you! :)

24 more hours

 Favourite drink. Ever!

24 more hours, to guess what? RESULTS haha. I'm such a spoiler I know but oh well too bad. It's reality so we can never run away from it so yup. And also in like 36 more hours? I'll be flying off to US! YES USA :D

If you didn't know yes, I'll be flying of to US for a holiday with my aunt's friend and my sis woohoo! First time, and finally another continent to be stepped on :D My dream of stepping on the 7 continents (if not 5 heh, since the other 2 is difficult) is getting closer and closer :D I'll be going to Chicago and yup exploring some other parts of the US so yup. Gonna be an awesome trip (Y).

Today was alright. Still feeling moody I don't know why. Went to do grocery shopping again with my mum and sis, and we went to eat at our favourite restaurant D'Green for some snacks. Pretty yummy, but service was a tad long. Not sure why but nevermind we got our food anyway.

Yeah I guess that's all for today. Shall do the day17 - 19 challenge now! And I don't owe anything.

Day 17 - Somewhere you'd like to move or visit

To move, not so much. To visit, one whole list of places! Haha. Okay moving is not really... My kind of thing. Well I'm born in Indonesia and so well as much as I can I will stay and live here! Unless something happened that forced me to move out of this beautiful country, then I will move. And places I would like to move... Paris, Mongolia, China, New Zealand, Maldives, Iceland, Palau, Hawaii, Russia. But well :) The place I would first move will be Singapore. You all should know why :)

Visit - Lots of places! But my top list will be: Mongolia, Tibet, Paris, Iceland, Russia, New Zealand, Italy, Morocco, Africa, Hawaii, Palau, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Chengdu, Qinghai, Hei Long Jiang, Kazakhstan, Raja Ampat islands, Pulau Bangka, Lombok, Bali (again), Nepal, Japan, London, Scotland, and much much more. The list will just go on and on and on. But these are the places :)

Day 18 - Your highs and lows this past year

Can I say this past year as my 2nd year in poly? :D

So anyway lets start with the lows. I would say firstly, my GPA dropping as I once said, but thankfully maintaining my cumulative GPA. Year 2 was really really a tough year for me, with lots of things happening at the wrong timing. But also this year is when I learnt the most :) Decided to stop band for semester 2. Well, I really miss band now so yeah :/ Getting my OITP cancelled. But I believe life has better plans for me :) I can't really think of the lows. What else? Oh well haha. Whatever it is, what has happened has happened. Either I move on, or make things better!

The highs - Inner Mongolia OCIP with my awesome GT! Korea trip with SPSB, reaching the summit of Mount Kinabalu (hell yeah!), SCMS 10KM, Poly50, getting into research hehe, winning a few photography competitions (mini ones though, and one major one I suppose). And yep. There's more, I'm just a bit lazy to think of them but yeah. As I said my year 2 is a wonderful year. Though it may be the toughest, it's also the year that I enjoy aesthetically and more. I learnt a lot about life.

Oh well, highs, lows, medium, that's life! :)

Day 19 - A song that you can play on an instrument

I play the piano majorly, so I'll just put one song that I truly enjoy playing on the piano! And it's...

Howl's Moving Castle Main Theme - The Merry-go-round of Life by Joe Hisaishi! Yes this is the orchestral version but I can play the piano one :D And one thing I'm most proud of myself is that I play most of this song by ear! I managed to get the score like 3 years ago. But I lost it (somehow) and well decided to play the rest of the song by ear. So yup, I love Joe Hisaishi songs. And this is by far my favourite song from him (out of the so many awesome songs he has!).

Afterall, we're riding on the merry-go-round of life :)

Numb

Hmm. Nothing much today, I just got back from Jakarta yesterday. Since I've missed many days of my challenge, I will post them here. I've nothing much to do now anyway.

Today I made my electronic ID card! Very cool, well our ID used to be this laminated piece of paper but now we're turning electronic just like how we progress with technology I suppose. But the bad news is I don't know when it'll be done heh. When I'll get it, when I can use it so. Just hoping!

Feeling rather moody, numbed, quiet and empty today. I don't know why.

Anyway. Here goes the day 14 - day 16 challenge! 17 - 19 will be tomorrow ok?

Day 14 - How have you changed for the past 2 years

Well I think I've changed a lot for the past two years. Past two years would mean 2010 right? It's the year I enter poly and the year I start on my DPA. I guess... For better and worst, I've changed for the past two years. Let's start with the good things? I definitely have lost weight. I remembered I was 90kg plus in 2010 and now I'm 84 (Y). And I think I'm exercising MUCH MORE for the past two years compared to then hehe.

Definitely, I've become a more positive person. I tend to look more on the brighter side of things, and always try to seek the positivity of negative things. I gave up less easily. And definitely, definitely, I've learnt that life is not only about studies. About being the best, about being the top. But about having a balance in everything and most importantly seek joy in everything that you do.

I've become a better photographer? Haha And more I guess.

On the dark side, I think I still can't handle stress well, and my time well. Even though I feel my time management slightly improves for the past two years. And yes my result is dropping, though I can maintain my cumulative GPA thanks to my great result for semester 1. Hopefully can sustain it this time round! Don't wanna drop again. Sweet.

All in all, I just want to say - I want to still be Adhi for the past two years :)

Day 15 - What makes you different from everyone else

I'm sure we are all different from each other. What makes me different from everyone else is because, I Am Adhianto Suherli Lie and nobody else heh. But well I guess you can say... I don't really listen to mainstream songs, I listen to weird songs that not many listen to. I enjoy being alone most of the times because I think loneliness gives me happiness. I love to eat weird food.

I'm a guy who don't watch soccer/basketball but enjoy playing it and enjoy running. I'm a guy who loves notebooks (usually this is a girl thing right?). I keep a diary and enjoy writing in it. I love cooking and writing. What else? Haha.

But nevertheless well, how different I am from other people, makes me who I am, makes me who you are. Because it is the differences that we have in this world that makes life wonderful! :)

Day 16 - A song no one would expect you to love

Song no one would expect me to love? Hmm.... Well if I tell you the songs I listen to you guys will be shocked! (Except those friends that know I listen to these "weird" songs)

But well I like this!

Yes even though I like to listen to pop/classic/chilout/post-rock I love this song too! Well sounds like some "clubbing" song right, but I love the rhythm, the melody etc. Really good! Hehe

Sipping tea

Today the sky was pink, when the sun was setting!

Haha just another random title. Yes I love tea and I love sipping it. Especially when I'm at my dad's garden in the evening. The weather is cooling, air refreshing, when you sip the tea it feels like as if life is so darn good. Well yeah life is as good as you make it to be. Just like how we sip a good cup of tea. How much you enjoy it, depends on how much you feel blissed as you do it.

Umm yeah something like that.

Anyway look what I ate today!

 It's tut-tut or snails

It's snails! Freshly caught from the paddy field two days ago :D Cooked today hehe. Not bad, taste like the normal small scallops thingy (or la-la as we know it) with the superb aroma and freshness of the paddy field still being able to be tasted on it hehe.

Okay I will be going to Jakarta tomorrow till Friday to settle some stuff. My sis will be coming back for just 4 days on Friday so I'll hop on a ride with her and my brother back. Hope the 4 days will be awesome. Foreseeing.... Boredom though. Not sure too.

Okay day 13 it is :)

Day 13 - If you had $ 1,000,000 to spend how would you spend it?

Hmm I'm not someone who loves to "spend" money. As in you know like indulge myself if I have lots of money, go here buy this and go there buy that. In fact I'm quite "selfish". Lets say I got ang pao from CNY, I would bank it and don't wanna spend all of it. Hehehe. So in a sense you can say I'm someone who spend money when I want to spend. I don't have the urge to spend when I have the money.

Which I believe everyone is sort of like that too.

So most probably I'm going to first bank that million dollars in several banks HAHAHA. Okay maybe some to save and some to spend and some for donation (Y).

If I were to spend it here are the list of things I will spend it on:

- A baby grand piano (grand is too ex even though a million is enough to get it) which costs $40k?
- Make an awesome soundproof room just to put the grand piano
- Buy a stand up piano to be put on the living room so that I can play it for people
- Dine in like super duper posh restaurant, 3 michelin stars etc
- TRAVEL THE WORLD (Y) Go to Europe, Asia, and so on and forth
- Buy new camera body and lenses (Y)
- Watch concerts/musicals in the VIP box
- Decorate my house? If I have one heh
- Buy an awesome surround system for good awesome music
- Don't forget a SUPERB headphone
- Buy and learn how to play the instruments I wanna learn

I don't know what else to buy? Haha. I'm not an automotive guy, not a fashionista, not a gastronomy guy either (though I enjoy good food). If let say the above are the things I wanna get, perhaps say $200 000 for all of these. Meaning I'm left with $800 000. I'll save $400 000, donate $100 000 to various charities, $100 000 for my daily needs or something like that, for my parents and family too. $100 000 to set up a new business.

Then I'll earn more! And the cycle begins... Nyehehe.

Okay yeah that's really IF I can really get to follow what I've been planning to do. You know human nature can turn so freaking greedy. Maybe in the middle I turn to some greedy maniac and I go and spend on redundant stuff and then I lost all my money for nothing heh. But surely, I will never spend EVERYTHING. I'll keep aside some money. I think it's a bit... Waste to spend everything. Money is not easy to come by you know! Very hard to earn, very easy to lose.

Yeah that's how I'll spend if I have $1 000 000 hehe. A dream... Nyehehe!

It's a Sunday

Mt Gede and the clouds

Well I can't think of any other title to give for today. So it's a Sunday! Yay!

Anyway as usual I went shopping with my mum and sis today. Bought nothing much just the usual stuff like drinks hehe. Anyway my aunt and my cousin is here! Till Tuesday. So just now we went for dinner with my aunts, uncle and cousins! Love it when we all gather together. We never fail to smile, to laugh and to simply have a good talk together :) Oh yeah hehe.

Yeah it's just another Sunday, there's nothing much to talk to so yup. Day 12 then!

Day 12 - A song that is a guilty pleasure

I have no idea how to interpret guilty pleasure... I searched and it says (lets say a song). It's a song you'll feel guilty when others found out you love listening to it. Well firstly I don't see the need of feeling guilty when others found out I love listening to a song. So... Yeah. Secondly I don't really have songs that I feel guilty listening! Haha. But well maybe if I put it in a way that people will find "shocking" to know I listen to some songs... Then I have a few answers. Let me see...

Yes I listen to old songs! Does that count?

Well I listen to a various old songs that I still love. Some songs which are released even before I was born! But thanks to my parents and Gold 90 FM in Singapore, which I really love to listen to when I was in primary school and sec 1 - 2 I really love old songs! I remember when I was in P6, my aunt was so shocked to know that I know lots of old songs haha. But I love them! Sometimes they're better than the songs nowadays. And it's a fact - but this is a reason why these songs still last till now.

Where some songs of the 2000 era just disappear now haha.

Okay ending the post with another oldie I love

This is not the music video but yup it's Regret by New Order. Not so oldie I guess cause it's a song from 1993. But still I was only one then! Haha. Anyway this song holds so many memories cause I found this song in 2009. I can still remember, first time listening to this song in Class 95 FM while studying in the libray with Jeslyn, Ade, MF and WQ. And that's also when I fell in love with this song.

This song holds so much memories of my O Level days! :') Anyway below is the link to the music video if you want to watch it on Youtube. Not bad! :)

Wind and sunset

Today was a gooooood day! Cause I finally can see a gorgeous sunset that I've been waiting for (Y). Two cloudy weeks and I finally can witness, see, shoot an awesome and gorgeous sunset! Really love it :) I shall post some photos here!

And wow today the evening was really really windy. I really mean it, very windy and cold. Kinda scary but awesome at the same time. I was in shorts and T-shirt, the wind blew and it's just so damn bloody cold! But anyway I'm the kind of person that loves cold weather so that's awesome :D But really, it was cold heh. Even after I reached home! Brrr

Alright I'm posting some photos so here they are :)

Back on day 11 challenge!

Day 11 - Your favourite comfort food and why

Favourite comfort food is definitely, definitely - SOUP! Don't you just love the warmth of the soup, added with the robust flavour of the stock, which is elevated by the sweetnes of vegetables and the meat's savoury? Then the herbs do their magic. Okay I sound like some food show host.

But anyway yes soup is definitely my comfort food. I love soups. In fact when I feel moody, I would usually cook soups. Just simple soup like chicken stock + mushroom + carrots + chicken + sausages and so on. It's an instant mood booster and happiness kicker. There's just something about soups that made me love it so so much. On a rainy day, a bowl of warm soup is your best friend hehe.

I'm not a huge fan of creamy soup. I prefer clear soups like those with stocks and so on. Less cream. And I have this weird habit of pouring soup into rice (and vice versa) and eating them together! So far only Candy agrees and does the same thing. Oh and also my family, we do that hehe. Most of the people find that habit of mine weird. But it's good! I like it haha.

I don't mind soups and breads too. Yum. I saw Jamie Oliver cooked this bread soup once on TLC and oh gosh it looks so divine. Been wanting to try but I don't have an oven :( Looks real good. I did a version of that once but... I separate the bread haha. Here's a photo of one of my soup creations!

Goodbye

If you realise, no one teaches you to laugh, to smile, and to feel happy

Today I received a shocking news. One of my dad's workers, whom I have known since I'm quite young just passed away this morning. It was really shocking cause I just met him yesterday and he seems normal. Well we don't talk much but we always see each other whenever he used to come by my house. And when I was young well I've met him since then basically. I saw him yesterday and he left this world this morning.

Life is just so unpredictable at times. Nevertheless, rest in peace to him.

Treasure your life people.

Anyway nothing much happened today. But in the afternoon helped my sis to key in some stuff into the computer! Pretty interesting things to do. Hard in the beginning but as you go through it again and again, you get used to it and well then it's just like kinda breezy then :)

Alright not much to talk to today so day 10 challenge then!

Day 10 - A song that reminds you of somewhere

Okay I'm not sure how to interpret this. Reminds me as in a memory? Or reminds me as in makes me feel like a place, reminds me of a place (not necessarily a place I went to). Nevertheless I'm including both heh.

La Voix by Malena Ernman

This song reminds me so much of Sweden! Well firstly cause I visited Sweden in 2009. And she was the singer representing Sweden for the Eurovision singing concert! I was expecting her to be in top 5 or something like that cause she's really good! I love the song and I love her voice. Turned out she was 21st OMG. So shocked by the outcome. But still I love the song! :)

Plus when I was there, I went to a palace and there was this change of guards ceremony. There was a band playing there and they played this song! Check out my Sweden post back in June of 2009. Really great memory man...  This song so reminds me of Sweden! :)

Sweet Lullaby by Deep Forest

Well as for this song it reminds me of a place. A wide grassland with blue sky and the setting sun. Streaks of yellow clouds are in the sky and then the wind is blowing softly. The air is cool and refreshing. That's what this song reminds me of. The calm evening sky when the sun is setting.

Yup these are the two songs that remind me of somewhere. Hope you like them too! :)
