Ultralife

Hello! It's the last day of April can you believe it. Not sure why and how but I feel this month flew by really really quickly. Perhaps it's the fact that we had three consecutive long weekends so which means we have two of 4 weekday weeks? Okay not sure either heh. But May is here tomorrow!

There are days where I feel like I'm detached to time. You know, days where I don't know what day and month it is now. In fact today was rather embarrassing. So I was talking to my worker about how today is the last delivery of the month, and we are going to write it as the 30th of April, and not first of May, even though it's gonna be delivered tomorrow. And then I was telling him like "you mean 31st of March?". And he's like no... It's April now. I was like WTF haha. Oops.

Anyway so far I think I'm doing quite good with the ten posts per month thing. In fact too good that I literally post ten posts a month. I think I should post more... When I have the time.

Alrighty time to talk about the great music I discovered in April!

Great Music of April:
- Ultralife by Oh Wonder
- Hilang by Fanarama
- Ocean Drive by Duke Dumont
- Metropolis by Compuphonic
- Stardust by Asgeir
- Afterglow by Asgeir
- Love by Lana Del Rey

Song of the month: Ultralife by Oh Wonder

Oh Wonder released their new single on the last day of March while I was in Singapore for Coldplay haha. I really love the song! And I'm so excited about their new album in June (pre-ordered!). What I love about Oh Wonder music is that... It kinda gives you a good vibe. Especially the video which is super meaningful and uplifting. I can't wait for their new album. They are one of my favourite singer-songwriters ever. Looking forward to see what the second album is all about.

I actually discovered Hiland by Fanarama a year ago but they didn't release their music up till this month. It was only available on Soundcloud. Excited to hear more songs from them too, as seen from their Instagram hehe. Ocean Drive is another song I discovered off YouTube. It was on my recommended tab again and damn I love the beat and the song. Definitely a song for long drives. Which also goes the same for Metropolis, which I discovered from Majestic! Metropolis is such a beautiful and warm song. It makes you reminisce a lot. Perfect song after a long day, or late nights.

Asgeir just released two new songs as well, Stardust and Afterglow, which is the title track for his upcoming album! It's gonna be out in 5 more days and I'm so excited weee. I love Stardust because I think it is a new "style" from Asgeir. In fact the three songs released all have different characteristics, which makes me really intrigued for his new album. I wanna know how the album is going to sound. Asgeir is definitely my favourite male singer from Iceland, and I love his music. Cause the poetic lyrics go very well with his music. I'm so excited to see his second album, cause I love "In The Silence"!

Last but not least, I know Lana released Love in February but I only got the song now heh. I kinda like the song because it reminds me of her first album, which to me is the best album from her. I kinda hope that she's going back towards that direction but then again, I'm up for everything!

Alright that's all for the music of April. May and June is gearing to be a good two months for music with so many new albums being released. So so excited! Have a great May ahead people :D

Kampoeng Jazz 2017!

 PREP at Kampoeng Jazz

Hello, okay thankfully I caught some sleep in the car just now and I can blog about this awesome festival now haha. Anyway yes I went for the 9th Kampoeng Jazz Festival in Bandung (Padjajaran University) today. I'm not exactly a jazz lover, I'm okay with it but I'm here for PREP! An awesome band from UK whom I discovered about 2 years ago when they release Cheapest Flight.

Also I finally got the chance to see Tulus live! Weeee. And Kunto Aji as well.

To be honest I was rather hesitant to go because it is now a long weekend holiday and Bandung roads are always jammed during long weekends. This is the third of three consecutive long weekends and on the news, they talk about how full the roads of Bandung, and to Bandung were. But it's PREP, I don't know when I can catch them live again so I have to! I brave myself mwahaha. But thankfully lady luck is on my side and there was not much jam actually. Whew! In fact I was too early heh.

I booked a hotel thinking that I might want to stay a night in Bandung if the concert ended late. So I reached Bandung at 2 PM, way too early! Heh. Went to grab lunch first, and buy stuff my sister and mum wants me to get. Then checked in the hotel to rest for a while. Didn't get much sleep last night.

 Cheers to these wonderful kids!

Head over to UnPad at 6 PM (I overslept!) and walked around the festival ground first. There was a Sundanese art showcase going on at the main stage and there were super cool kids playing in an angklung ensemble. Totally remind me of my days at Pei Tong :( I miss playing the angklung haha. And then went to grab something to eat first before catching Kunto Aji.

Kunto Aji in the Dago stage!

I love Kunto Aji's set cause he's so energetic! Love the energy he's giving to the crowd, and how he interacts with all of us. How we all sing and just sway along with his music.

 Teddy Adithya. Awesome set!

Then I headed over to the main stage to secure a good spot for Tulus and PREP hah. Before these two I caught Teddy Adithya who's an incredible performer! I'm so glad that I discovered him tonight. Love his music, can't really describe it but he's really awesome.

Seeing him live is a totally new experience

And then Tulus was next. Okay Tulus is really a great male singer in Indonesia. Some say he's the Sam Smith of Indonesia (and I agree!). His music is so beautiful and uplifting but let me tell you, seeing him live is a whole new experience. I love how he talks with us, and just talk about each song. And also his collab with Kunto Aji and Teddy was awesome haha. Especially the triplet part <3

And last but not least PREP was definitely the highlight of the night! Like I mentioned above, I thought I'll never be able to see them live. After all I'm further further down south from London heh, on the other side of the planet. I was just hoping that I can see them live. And I remember seeing their Instagram Post, "Bandung we're coming for you" and I went crazy haha. Bought the ticket right away!

So thankful to catch them live seriously.

To be honest I don't know much about them, although I've discovered them for two years. They're kinda like a ghost band. I don't know the names of the members, I don't know who play what and so on. Not much live videos are found on YouTube, and they don't even have a Facebook Page hah. But I've been interacting with them via Twitter and Instagram. Seeing them live is just woots!

They played every song from their debut EP and also lots and lots of new songs. And I love every song that they played last night! Especially "Rachel" and "Don't Bring Me Down" (or is it don't put me down?). Their energy, aesthetic and everything else is incredible. And then they closed their gig with Cheapest Flight and the whole crowd lost it mwahaha. I'm so proud we have so many PREP fans here.

Anyway during the show they mentioned that there are some CDs and Vinyls at the merch stand and to "come hang out". I already have the vinyl and I have ordered the CD heh, so I thought I'll just talk to them. Turned out... You can buy the vinyl and get it signed! Okay still I already have it so I just stayed to talk heh. Thankfully I brought my journal and the one of the organisers was kind enough to let me stay!

And something sad happened. So there was only 25 copies of the vinyl available. Some people were queuing, I counted that there should be enough for people who queued. But suddenly they ran out and there were only three left. The girl in front of me couldn't get it and she broke down (awww). But one of the organiser (the same guy) kindly gave his copy to her! So awesome!

Thanks for signing my journal <3

I also gave out pieces of paper from my journal to fellow fans so that they can get their signatures haha. That's what fans are for people! And screw some people who actually cut queue.

Anyway yes I got the chance to talk and shook their hands! So so awesome. As usual I startled a flipping lot heh. I was like "okay compose yourself, plan out the things you wanna say" and when I meet them "asffgklweormnasdmnsdfwlekjmrt" HAHAHA. Okay not really.

Everytime I got the chance to meet my favourite artists/bands, there are always three things that I will tell them. No matter who screwed up I say to them. They are:

"I love your music/Your music is amazing"
"Love the performance, it's incredible!"

last but not least, and the most important one:

"Thank you for your music"

Because really, music is incredible.

Anyway that's all from me today. I'm still feeling so so happy that I get the chance to see PREP live. And to shake hands and talk with them. I really hope that I can see them live again one day! Especially when they have released their new EP hehe. Thanks for coming to Bandung! :)

Alright hope you're having an awesome long weekend!

One Year On!

I miss the clear blue skies.

Today's the 28th of April which marks... One year since I returned from Tibet! Oh man it's such a wonderful trip and I am always thinking about it. About the trip, the place, the people, and everything else. I would love to return one day, to explore the other parts of Tibet! Especially the east.

Tibet is really a place that you can't find anywhere else on Earth. Okay some of the people who went with me for the trip told me that Ladakh in Northern India is pretty similar to Tibet and I'd love to see it too! And Bhutan as well. But I suppose nothing will be as similar as Tibet itself. The people, culture and everything. I've always felt humbled whenever I look back on those days.

Humbled because of the people, who are so friendly, kind and resilient. Humbled because of the beautiful sights that I see, that make me feel pretty small in this world. And of course not forgetting, humbled because of Qomolangma, or Mt Everest. I'll forever be humbled and awed by the mountain. I'll always remember to be humble and at the same time, to always remind myself not to give up climbing the "mountains" that I'm going to face in life. The mountain is a great teacher.

I'd say that the trip is actually probably the most incredible journey that I've embarked on. Because seriously, nothing could beat that. It's a sensory overload, and spiritual overload too. It's an experience that encompasses everything that I want to experience. Both in the things I do/see and the emotions I feel. And well, I seriously hope I can feel the same in every trip I'm going to.

Alright just a short post to talk about this reminiscence. Anyway I'm going to Bandung tomorrow for Kampoeng Jazz Festival! PREP is coming and I can't believe that I'll be seeing them live tomorrow! I thought I'll never have the chance to see em live eeep. Alright see you tomorrow! :)

Enjoying Music?

Okay I don't usually rant in my blog... But I've been wanting to talk about this. Although it's been almost a month since Coldplay Singapore, there was something that I experienced in the concert that kinda bugged me heh. It may be a trivial matter but it kept me wondering up till today.

Firstly don't get me wrong, the concert is amazing. I love the audience, I love the energy and I love the vibe. To be in the middle of a stadium full of people singing and dancing to Coldplay, especially with Xylobands, is such an incredible experience. What I kinda didn't like is... The people around me. As I noticed them, throughout the concert. Not sure how to feel about this.

In the concert, I was seated on the last seat of the row. Beside me is this husband and wife couple and in front of me was another solo-concert goer who's a guy. I feel kinda sad for the couple because it was rather clear that it was the wife who "wanted" to go for the concert. Cause the husband was on his phone playing games/chatting on Whatsapp most of the time, while his wife was happily dancing and singing to Paradise and Fix You and so on. Sometimes she would call him and they would hug and move to the music in a romantic embrace. And after that he went back to his phone.

Ladies/gentlemen, take a note, if your other half doesn't listen to your kind of music, don't force them to accompany you to concerts of your favourite bands. Haha.

The guy in front of me (who's an Indonesian) was okay, I thought he was a huge fan of Coldplay cause he was wearing the Europe tour shirt. In my mind I thought he was so dedicated to go to Europe to catch Coldplay last year. But err I was a bit puzzled how he didn't seem to "move" much to the music right from the beginning. But he did something very often: take lots of selfies/photos of his xyloband.

And I noticed that he only started "dancing" during two songs: Hymm For The Weekend and Adventure of A Lifetime. For the rest of the concert, he was either taking photos, sitting down, or upload his selfies to (I think) Snapchat. He even left the concert during Amazing Day. I wondered... Don't tell me he only knows two of these Coldplay songs. Or maybe he only enjoy these two songs.

I have nothing against selfies and uploading to your social media etc. But wow, does he actually enjoy the concert? Do you actually enjoy a $267 ticket concert by doing so?

Contrary to these two people, there were two Indonesian ladies about two rows down from my seat who are definitely hardcore Coldplay fans because the two of them were dancing and singing to their songs, and cried and hugged each other during Fix You hahahaha. During the concert I was seriously hoping to change my seat to beside them. I think I'll enjoy the concert more.

Yes I was feeling rather mehh seeing these scenes beside me during the concert. But then again I personally believe that there is no rule to enjoying music. There's no certain behaviour codes that one has to follow to "enjoy music". But I was just wondering... Has times changed?

Okay well maybe for me, I take "enjoying music" too seriously. For me when I go to a concert I'll go and watch my favourite band perform and sing. Yes I take photos but not all the time. And to me I don't use social media during the concert. I want to be there. Not in my social media heh.

But then again, Coldplay was the first large-scale concert that I ever been to. The other gigs that I went to are pretty much smaller compared to them. Sigur Ros, Chvrches, EOTS, WSATCC, Shura, and so on. To be frank, at the other gigs that I went to, no one around me was on their phone (except for taking photos of course). We are all too busy losing ourselves to the music.

Well these are just my thoughts. Maybe I'm being a sour-grape regarding this issue, and that I take music "too seriously". I'm just feeling sad because I don't think this is how we should enjoy a concert. Has the world changed, that showing the world we're in a concert is more important than being in the concert itself? Do you go to a concert for bragging rights, or do you go because you love the band/artist and their music, which they worked so hard to produce and perform to?

Just my two-cents.

A Different Record Store Day

Happy Record Store Day!
A few of my measly vinyl collection

Hello! Today is the third Saturday of April which means it's Record Store Day (or RSD)! So happy Record Store Day everyone....! Okay I didn't go to any record store today. I'm feeling quite bumped that I couldn't make it for RSD in Jakarta this year, again! Well last year it fell on the Saturday that I was going to Tibet. This year? Life happened and I couldn't make it haha. Oh well no worries, I'm currently writing this with Kings of Convenience's Declaration of Dependence spinning.

To be honest this year's RSD felt a bit different for me. I'm not sure how to explain it but okay it has something to do with the minimalist lifestyle I'm trying to incorporate haha. Don't get me wrong though, I will still buy physical formats. In fact I have 4 more vinyls coming in heh. Just that I have decided not to buy more vinyls/albums, unless it's something that I really want to get.

No more buying things on impulse, no more buying vinyls for the sake of owning them! Heh. I've become really selective I suppose. Okay I still buy CDs that's for sure. This year I've already purchased 6 releases mwahaha. I've pre-ordered some upcoming LPs as well (Oh Wonder's and Asgeir's). And bought another vinyl. I am still looking forward to building my "music library" which I always dreamed of since a young boy. Just that back then, I didn't expect to be collecting vinyls!

I only buy vinyls of albums that I really love, have a special connection with, or albums that mean something to me. I'm not trying to say that I don't love the other albums or that they are meaningless, but well just something really really special to me. I'm sure you get what I mean hahaha.

Compared to the other vinyl experts and lovers out there, I only have a measly collection! Let me share with you my collection, in no particular order alright:

My Vinyl Collection:
1. Every Open Eye by Chvrches (my birthday present from Brenda! :D)
2. Tigersapp by Szymon (first vinyl that I bought)
3. EP and II double EP by Yumi Zouma
4, Yoncalla by Yumi Zouma
5. Declaration of Dependence by Kings of Convenience
6. Riot On An Empty Street by Kings of Convenience
7. A Rush of Blood To The Head by Coldplay (my first Coldplay album)
8. Mylo Xyloto by Coldplay
9. A Head Full of Dreams by Coldplay
10. Touch Single and remixes by Shura (2016 RSD release!)
11. Nothing's Real by Shura
12. Agaetis Byrjun by Sigur Ros
13. Með Suð Í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust by Sigur Ros
14. Take Five by John Coltrane
15. Blue Rondo a la Turk by Dave Brubeck Quartet
16. Born To Die by Lana Del Rey
17. Headcase / Hard To Read Double EP by Daywave
18. Walking On A Dream by Empire of The Sun
19. Time/Space double EP by Charlie Lim
20. Futures EP by PREP
21. Breakthrough by Nidji (Special 10 year anniversary edition)
22. Clarinet Concerto in A Major / Oboe Concerto in C by Bucarest Orchestra

Yup that is all! Just 22 vinyls in total. I haven't even reached 50 haha. All of these albums hold a special significance in my life. Be it because I really really love them, or they remind me of great memories. I can take days to talk to you about every of these albums. But yes I love them all.

And I do have some vinyls that I still want to get. For example Takk by Sigur Ros, Enya albums, White Shoes and The Couples Company Vakansi and Skenario Masa Muda, and many more. I found out the news that Warner Music is releasing some of Enya's albums on vinyl this year! I have pre-ordered the Best of Enya album which will be released next month and A Day Without Rain in June. Amarantine will be out in July too. Okay I'm so going broke haha, and not forgetting this year's albums!

But anyway, I will always buy physical formats. It is something that I've been doing since a young boy and I will continue to do it. Both as a hobby and also as a way to support my favourite artists. We live in a digital world now and not many people still buy CDs. Vinyls is getting more popular though so that's good. In fact I still have "the look" when people find out that I still buy CDs. But nah who cares.

There's something awesome about collecting physical formats that I really enjoy. It brings me back to when I was young, when my friends would ask me to lend them some albums. And I would ask them too. We would do CD exchanges and rip them off (oops). Sometimes we borrow CDs to try if the album is worth buying or not. Nowadays, people no longer do this because albums are readily available in iTunes and Spotify, which is great in my opinion, I'm a user too.

But well it's a bit weird to realise that we now live in a world where the answer to "Have you listened to XXX new album yet?" is "Yeah! I listened to them in Spotify, it's so good" or "Yeah I've downloaded the album on iTunes". Okay I'm not a hypocrite, I download lots of albums on iTunes too. But I just feel like when you own a physical copy of the album, that album feels more special I suppose? Rather than just digital files on your computer. Of course, we'll import the songs inside our computer too.

I'd like to quote Jarrett from Vinyl Eyezz (check out his channel on YouTube!), when collecting physical formats, there's that physical element that we can experience rather than mere digital files. Like the album cover, the media itself (vinyl/CD/cassette etc), the art work, and so on. True eh?

Well yeah these are just my thoughts. I won't stop collecting physical formats until one day, every musician decided to release their materials digitally only. Which I hope is not going to happen! Alright once again wishing everyone a happy record store day! Here's to the people who still believe that music needs a physical manifestation. And as always: Keep Spinning! :D

Regardless

When I first came to Singapore, I thought it was a bit "crazy" that people have to sing the national anthem and recite the pledge every morning during assembly. It is different from our tradition here where we only sing the national anthem and recite our "pledge" (we call it Pancasila) once a week every Monday, where we have a formal assembly. I was in the choir okay! Mwahaha.

But after eight years of listening to my Singaporean friends recite the pledge every morning, six words will forever be etched in my mind. They are: regardless of race, language or religion.

These six words will forever stay in my mind. A reminder that we should treat everyone with respect and love, regardless of their race, language or religion. And that's how unity is achieved in a country. Just like in Singapore where really, everyone is united although there are many people of different races. And people can get along pretty well without having to compare their different race/religion.

Looking at what's unraveling in my country right now, maybe it's time for us to not have weekly assembly (upacara) but we should make Indonesian kids recite Pancasila every single day. I think it's a great foundation to this country of ours and we should remind our kids of this every day.

Running

When I was young, someone once told me a quote that stays with me till now.

"Don't run before you learn how to walk"

To me this is something that stays with me since then. Basically it's a reminder to not rush things and to just really do things to the best of your capability, before going into the next level. We often overestimate ourselves, going to the next stage of life before we are even capable of finishing and accomplishing this current stage well. And when we enter the next stage, we suffer.

Being an adult now, this is something I relate to a lot. Most of the time it's not me who decided to go to the next "stage. Most of the time it's other people who pushed me, thinking we're all capable of accomplishing this. But meh, of course being an adult I know my limits too. And I usually refuse to comply with them. We should never overestimate ourselves. And also never underestimate ourselves.

Like I've always believed, it's important to be ambitious, but it's more important to be ambitious within your limits. And the only person who sets our limits is ourselves. You know yourself best.

So yeah, when people try to set my limit, mehh, don't try me.

Short Weekend

 #vegan

Okay time to talk about my short but delightful weekend while I was attending Coldplay!

So as I mentioned I arrived in Singapore at 11 AM and I went to see Syazwani for lunch! We met in Bedok cause I took the train from Changi. Been so long since we last saw each other so glad to see her again! Decided to eat at this vegan burger place in Clarke Quay and it's super good. It's called nomVnom and there are so many choices I didn't know which to choose. I chose the truffle burger with patty made out of mushroom while Syaz went for the (vegan) otah burger!

Good to see you again Syaz!

The meals were really delicious. I had a vegan sausage as a side which was awesome as well. Then we went to Plaza Sing cause she was looking for a new phone and she got it on that day! Woohoo. I wished we could spend a longer time but I was feeling super crazy with 24 hours of no sleep heh. I was dizzy, nauseatic and so on and forth so I went to my hotel to take a nap before Coldplay.

Thanks for the lunch and meet-up Syaz! Hopefully we can meet up again when I'm back in SG :D

I was having a difficult time finding my hotel at Bencoolen street heh. Alas the hotel was under renovation so there was no "physical" building to see. I even called the hotel to ask where they are located hahaha. Checked in, and I just crashed from about 3 PM to 4 plus PM. Felt super good after that tho. Took the train to Stadium to join the queue (which I found there wasn't any for my gate haha).

Glad to see them both again <3

After Coldplay I went to meet Brenda and Jeslyn for supper! It's been so long since I see them both too (okay maybe not Jes since we met in November!) and it's good to see them again. Went to Spize and had a great supper and chat with them. It's all sinking in that we're all adults now (T_T) Working adults to be exact. So we were talking about work and the future and so on. We've all grown up :l

Went back to the hotel to call it a night. I had such an awesome 6 hours sleep!

Thankfully I didn't bring any luggage, just a backpack for this trip. So I took a bath and then went to pack my bag before heading to City hall to meet Jolene, Sharon and Tacy for brunch! It was so funny cause we were deciding a place to eat and I just said can we eat and Soup Spoon cause I'm craving for it and Jolene was like "You went to Singapore to eat Soup Spoon??" HAHAHA.

 Yay for soup spoon mwahaha.

But yes it's been a year since all of us met as well so it's good to see them! Sadly Weilun was called for reservist so he couldn't come. Hope to see him next time! Same as last night, we were all talking about our work and school for Sharon haha. And were just reminiscing the good times we had in Tanglin. I swear it feels like yesterday when we were all 14/15! Time where did you go to man.

And after that I went for lunch with Candy! Oh gosh it's been a year since we saw each other and it's good to see you again! Decided to go for lunch at Mad For Garlic at Suntec and thanks for joining in the veggie boat with me for this meal mwahaha. Spent a good two hour or so talking about so many things. From work to life, and everything else in between. Can't believe this friend of mine whom I used to work together with for assignments, and went for many school trips/camps with is now a nutritionist! Proud of how far you've come and I'm sure you're gonna do fine in life :D

Good to see you again Candy!

It was 2:45 when we finished eating so we bid farewell and cabbed to Changi straight. That is all for my short but delightful weekend in Singapore :/ But anyway thank you everyone whom I've met in this short trip. Sorry that I couldn't meet more people cause I was pressed for time. I seriously don't know when I will be back in Singapore. But I always look forward to that day! :)

See you soon in another post! And see you again dear sunny island.

Friday 7 April 2017

Coldplay Singapore!

It's an honour to grow up with this band

It's been a week since I went to see Coldplay live in Singapore and I'm still thinking about it! It's the best concert I've ever been to and man it's so hard to move on haha. Okay as promised I'm gonna talk about it! Also this definitely needs a special blog post mwahaha. Since I've been talking about wishing to see them live back years ago heh. Gonna talk about the other things I did while in Singapore on another separate post! :) Also I won't go into details of the whole concert.

Okay so yes Coldplay is finally back in Singapore for their AHFOD tour! Was feeling kinda sad that they didn't stop by Jakarta, but Singapore is the nearest so I have to make this happen heh. Was drowning in waves of disappointments when I couldn't get my ticket for their initial show on the 1st of April. Thank you to the universe and Coldplay for adding another night!

Almost had a heart attack when my browser crashed probably 4 times after a two hour wait in an awesome virtual waiting room. But got my hands on a Cat B ticket!

Fast forward 4 months later, I was on my way to Singapore to see them live weeee. Okay I was pretty shocked how in December, most of the flights that was on 31st of March were either sold out, or only available in the expensive prices heh. Or it's just a weird timing. I didn't want to risk my time so I actually booked the earliest flight on SQ heh. Reached Singapore at 11 AM! Met with Syaz for lunch and a bit oc catchup before I went back to the hotel to crash for one hour.

Disclaimer: I was awake for 30 hours prior to the concert, with only an hour nap taken.

The door to the stadium opened at 6 PM but I decided to go to National Stadium at 5 PM. Too excited for Coldplay heh. There was already a long queue for the standing pens and also for my gate. But no one was forming a line, they were just sitting around heh. Went to check out the merch stand to get myself the official Asian/European tour tshirt and then joined in the line! I was queuing with a fan from Malaysia and we were chatting for a while. Entered the stadium at about 6:15 I think.

Okay actually the reason I was early is because I was afraid that people are not going to follow their allocated seats hahaha. But thankfully everyone went to their allocated seats and thankfully I got a good seat with a good view. I wish I was at the standing pen but it's okay! Another time maybe.

Jess Kent played at 7 PM, and I haven't really heard about her but her songs are quite awesome! Loving the RnB beats and how she explains every song she was singing about. Got myself a cup of beer and then I was just waiting away for Coldplay to come on stage.

 Confetti confetti more confetti!

When they did, I had shivers down my spine! As usual the entry is marked with O Mio Babbino Caro followed by the famous Charlie Chaplin speech. Everyone stood up and we were all cheering and clapping and smiling. I've never felt such emotions before. To finally see your dream come true, to finally catch your favourite band of 12 years perform live in front of your eyes. It's amazing! :')

Okay not gonna talk about every song they play in the concert heh. But here are some of my favourite moments! The introduction is already a favourite heh cause that Charlie Chaplin speech is one of my favourite speeches ever. And also the opening song (A Head Full of Dreams) is one of my favourites from them too. Goosebumps everywhere! Especially when everyone sang the middle part.

I love all of their songs in the concert but some of them hold a more special meaning for me. For example Clocks, which was the first song that got me into knowing them. When they play that song I was just drowning in sentimentalism cause it's been 12 years since I first discovered them.

We'll be glowing in the dark

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall is also a favourite of mine. Or basically songs from Mylo Xyloto cause they remind me of the good times back in 2011! My KK trip, my first 10K race and so on. Every Teardrop is extra special cause it's really my mood-boosting song. Talks a lot about my life, how music is an escape for me. And Paradise reminds me of all the beautiful places I've been to so far in my life.

 Lights will guide you home

And not gonna lie but I was crying during Fix You heh. Fix you is one of my favourites from Coldplay. I'm sure it's everyone else's too. It feels like a good hug that you get when you listen to it to sleep after a bad day. I lost it during the bridge part when things just get super emotional. Without realising tears literally stream down my face as we all sing along the bridge T_T.

Also the #coldplaysingapore choir is amazing! During Viva La Vida as well.

Last but not least I also cried during Up and Up (oops!). Oh god so embarrassing. Thankfully I went alone and no one I know saw me cried hah. But then again I saw a few people cried after Fix You too. Up and Up is another feel good song too. And it's the song that soundtracked my (tough) 2016. So yeah all the not so great things that happened last year kinda came back to me but like my favourite line from the song says, you can clench your fist, or see each sunrise as a gift. I cried here.

 Adventure of A Lifetime!

Okay enough of the sad moments. I had a lot of fun singing and dancing to a lot of songs too. Especially Charlie Brown!!! It's such a great song to jump and dance around to seriously. And how Chris asked us to bow down during Adventure of A Lifetime and then jump during the bridge part. It's an amazing feeling to be part of a Coldplay concert seriously. The atmosphere is seriously uplifting.

All in all I'm just so happy that I managed to see them live. I've been wanting for this day and I managed to make it a reality. I still wish and hope that they will come to Jakarta one day. Because there are so many Indonesian fans that would love to see them live but haven't had the chance to.

I really didn't know how to put the night of 31/04/17 into words. But to see you dream turn into reality, to catch your favourite band of twelve years play live in front of you and to hear the songs you grow up with feels pretty amazing. It's a privilege to see you live, an honour to grow up with you, and a bliss to have you soundtracked some of my life's great moments.

Once again thank you so much Coldplay for the amazing concert! Hope to see you again!

Can't Move On

Hello, I'm finally back! Just got back from Coldplay concert in Singapore in Saturday but I've been so tired and busy with piling work and this I just managed to blog tonight haha. Anyway the concert is seriously the best concert I've ever been to and I'm just so so happy that I have finally managed to catch them live. It's a dream come true for me, and another item off my bucket list!

Okay will be doing a separate post about this concert!

Had a great time reuniting with some people that I haven't seen in a long time as well. Although it was only for one night. Thanks to everyone who took their time to meet up with me :D

Okay just a quick quick update. I can't seem to move on from the concert. It is so amazing!
